Chemical Peels

Chemical peel treatments include applying a chemical solution onto the skin that will help with resurfacing the skin. A single or multi layered peel will be used to address your skin concerns. Chemical peels help reduce or improve fine lines and wrinkles, acne, scars, uneven skin coloring and other skin imperfections. Average downtime 5-7 days.

  • Avoid retinol products, alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxy products at least 7 days prior to chemical peel

  • Avoid facial waxing and tanning beds for 10 days prior to chemical peel

  • Use UVA/UVB sunscreen SPF 30 or greater

  • You will not be treated with a chemical peel if you are pregnant or have any open wounds on your face

Pre-procedure:

  • You will discuss your concerns and treatment plan with your provider

  • Your face will be cleansed

  • The provider will apply a chemical peel fit for your skin type and concerns

The procedure:

  • Avoid washing face until instructed by provider

  • Avoid retinols, scrubs, and exfoliating treatments for 10 days after peel

  • Expect to see exfoliation 2-3 days after chemical peel

  • Avoid sun exposure for 10 days. Use sunscreen daily after the skin has healed to prevent damage to new young skin.

  • Avoid facials, microneedling, hair removal and lasers until skin has healed and directed by provider

  • Do not pick at shedding skin as this can cause hyperpigmentation

  • Follow post care instructions provided

  • Schedule follow-up appointment
